Compliments of the Orange County Sheriff's Departments Press Release.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department will be conducting a DUI/Driver's License Checkpoint in the City of San Juan Capistrano on Friday, September 23, 2011, from 6:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m.
The checkpoints are part of a grant the Sheriff's Department received from the State of California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and are set up to target drivers who are driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and / or driving a vehicle without a driver's license.
The goal of the program is to reduce the rate at which the citizens of Orange County are killed or injured. Through implementation of these events, the Orange County Sheriff's Department hopes to significantly reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage in each of our contract cities. The Orange County Sheriff's Department is committed to working hand in hand with their contract city partners in providing a safe environment for the motoring public.
For more information on the checkpoint, contact the Sheriff's Department's Public Affairs Office at (714)647-7042.
